Mornin all, just getting ready to mow the lawn before it gets too hot. Still have company and yesterday we were in Antigonish to the car races. Left at noon and home around 1AM. A little draggy today to say the least as it was a scorcher down that way. my cousins hubby was runnin fourth but lost his power steering around lap 190.
Weather is still very humid which is worse than the straight heat but I'm not complaining although it is hard on da missus with her breathing problems.
Oh wll, I'm off to do the chores. Have a good one. |

Good evening. Raining here this evening and thunder expected all night. Hopefully it'll clear out the weather here. All day it's been muggy and no wind whatsoever. The bugs are having a field day.Especially after each shower.
Weezie, I'm as black as your boots. When I get out it's plus thirty so great tanning weather but, then again, I can stand under a light bulb and get a tan.
Can't understand the forecasts here. On the computer it's calling for rain all week. On the TV weather network they say we will have sun all week. Both are issued by enviroment Canada. Go Figure??? I'm watching each day's sunset.
If it's sun, I'll get the fence finished, Rain I'll work on my book and proposal.
Ha.Ha. Girl, I drove through Botwood on my last trip home. Love the place, I do.
Jays took mthree Moose. The latest addition looks alful good.
Talk later. Bye. |

Hi all. Back from a 4 day camping trip had a ball We were lucky in that the town of Shelburne had Founders days and had a n encampment of a regiment from the 1700 hundreds there, three great beaches, nice walking trails, good friends and gobs of food. We were on the beach talking about winning the jackpot when a chap came by and said "If this is your retired lifestyle, then you have already won the jackpot" true words.
Yes Reg problem is Jays can't put a 10 of 11 streak together win 3 lose 4.
enjoy your painting.
Just heard an old school and neighbour George Saunders passed away suddenly in Alberta. He was a welder in the mill and lived in the Pine Ave Apts.

I must say that this thread is the most truly authentic I have ever seen in the Kitchen. I was looking through it and was struck by the exchange of information and interaction of various Newfoundlanders. It was a great pleasure to read about who is doing well and who is having problems and the connection to loved ones, both living and dead. It also makes one pine for a life they never lived. Thanks so much for sharing with the rest of us and I hope this thread will be able to remain as pure and pleasurable for years to come. Thank you.

Thanks Jetta. I've been posting here since 2001, just after the anchor woman, Weezie, started it. Came in contact with a lot of trully beautiful people over the years and met many of them. It is a real contact point.
Moose 17 years and $102 million. The New Jersey Devils gave a devil of a contract is all I have to say.
Weezie gone through five gallons of paint and going for three more. Starting the second coat this morning.
Must go. Talk later. |

Hey Jetta, this is a great site. Some people come and go and then there are the diehards who keep hanging on lol.
Bloody humidity is an energy sapper for sure. We could use a break from it after more than a week. Not that I'm complaining mind you. Just off to play our nightly game of Wii with the family. Have a good one. |

Reg are you painting all the fences in Goose Bay?? loL Another hot day here in central, i love the heat but not the humidity.........Wish i could remember all the people that have come and gone in this thread, would be interesting to know just how many .
Reg, dont think the Salmon Fest was as successful this year as they hoped. Catering to much to the teenagers, the concert should have had something for all ages, but it was all hard rock. Weather wise it couldnt have been a better weekend, first time in years. |

Hi Jetta I have been signing since the Weeze stared 10 years ago. I have good friends from North Carolina and I visit each year on our way to Florida. If I ever settle in the States it would be either NC or Virgina. Our friends live in Hickory. Please come back in anytime. Where do you live??
Reg I see Bettman is pushing his weight around re the Devils contract with "Chummy" I'll bet they come back with a 20 year one with less money per year but still 100 million.
Reg pull a Tom Sawyer and get your buddies to pitch in. I quit painting decks fences etc and just put on a clear stain. I found that the paint peeled after a year or two. Stain is like wedding vows there forever, least ways most times.

good morning. Still nice weather here.
No weezie. I built one across the back and up the side ten feet high. Painting both sids twice. Got some tan.
Can't believe the summer is going so fast. I don't have time for anything.
The weather the last couple of weeks have been perfect for growing the garden. The cabbage, turnip and carrot is the best I ever had. And so far (knock on wood) I haven't had any insects. Must have been the cold weather in early june.Eating fresh greens, lettuce and tomatoes for over a week now. Would lose a lot of weight if I didn't have a beer before the bbq, and wine and steak after the salad.
Just can't get to sleep tonight. Don't know whybut is 2am and I ready to go to work somewhere.
Take care.
Jays lost another today Moose. There;s always next year. |

Good evening.Sunday night and wde are to get three days of rain.
Just came back from Becky's retirement dinner. She's finished next friday and manager of the Legion which is the lragest venue in town for holding weeddings and meetings. Catering to up to four hundred.
Last night I went to the North West River beach festival. This year the main attraction was Charlie Majors. I really enjoyed the concert. Lasted from ten to midnight and the guy sang all his own songs for the full two hours. Great stuff.
At the gardens all day. Into the lettuce, green, strawberries and I think I'm having a seniors moment because I told you this before.
Hey Gordie. Welcome back. You know even my sister Pearl is on facebook now and would love to chat with you. She asks about you all the time. when I go home. Talks to your sister as well.
Officially kicked off my campaign for coulcillor tonight. By election coming up Sept (. Nuts of what, Weezie.
That's it from here. Take care. |

Hi all
Rain most all day here glad to have it.
Reg is councilor the first step to Mayor to MLA to Primer. " YUM SUM STUN or SMART" I would have thought with both you retired you would be off fishing, painting etc not working and getting stressed out.
Jays had a good series with Tigers.
I have been cleaning out my basement and trying to justify why I have 5 hammers, enough nails to build a house, a fridge full of paint (fridge is my paint locker) 4 levels, 5 50' extension cords etc.
I'm worse than a Crow picking up everything I already have. haha

Good morning. raining and windy here. the tall peonies andwhatever I had in front is flat on the ground.
Moose no stress just do what I can and let the rest go. Need to stay in the loop and keep active. Will still have time for everything else.
You have five hammers because you can never find one when you go to hails something together; the paint is leftover to fix future patches and is now outdated and the extension cords were brought last christmas and the christmas before because the ones you put away before that disappeared over the summer and will not be found until next summer. Plus they were on sale at Canadian Tire when you walked by.I am a little more disorganized than you so I have ten of each plus I have to "stockup" when I go outside to NF.
What kind of trades will the Jays make this week? Hope they don't trade Bautista.
Must go. Seems like everybody is busy and not posting.
I feel retired today. Have done a thing yet and it's ten thirty already. Bye. |

Hi all Weezie we'll have to wait and see if Reg did a whole day of rest or just a half day.
You're right about the hammers paint etc Figure jays will trade Bautista will go to some team that are in pennat race for three hot prospects. He is plAYINg for a big contract like wells did a few seasons ago. Then drop back to normal. Just think if Jays were in any other division they would be in the Hunt with 52 wins.
Just started the series about "THE GIRL" I am reading The Girl With Dragon Tatoo the missus is on #2 in series.

Actually never got to a half day. Started a project before lunch and then got reay for a presentation to council at six yeaterday.
Weezie, you should have been here for supper tonight. Had fresh salmon stuffed and baked with fresh kohlrobi (german version of turnip and greens plus baby carrots for supper. Salmon caught yesterday. Major difference between wild and farmed salmon, I tell ya.
Don't know Moose, the Jays have Overbay, Lewis and Encarnacian(?) playing well also. Hope they move Wells and keep the rest. Atleast they look like they are trying.
Must go someone at the door. Time for a new thread. Bye. |
