Mornin all. It looks a little cloudy at the moment and we have been having scattered showers although the temps are warm.

First of our company arrived yesterday and we ended up at the Newfie Club last night for a few scuffs. The rest are arriving today and so it begins lol. Will play the tourist guide for the next little while so my time in here will be limited. Took a quick run around the harbour yesterday and to see some of the huge navy ships visiting is awesome. The crowds in Halifax are crazy and it looks like a good start to the tourism season. This week, we have plans so far to go to the dinner theatre and to the Tattoo. Both should be fun.

Will check back in when I can, have a good one.

Good evening. Just got back from two weks in NFLD today over our new road. Only twenty k's now under construction. Seen three moose in NF and three bears and a porcupine on the Lab side; plus had a pod of about forty killer whales around the boat on the ride over the STraits. The tourist on board were going crazy. One lady went to Alaska last year and only seen seven. The caplin is running better now than anything the fishermen seen in years so there are a lot of whales.

Trvaleled all over Nf on business but had a very close friend pass away and then in the second week I came down with the worst flu I had in years so did not get a chance to do a lot of visiting. My nephew, BillB was home so saw him. Dusty was gone; Peg was gone; Went to Point of Bay and no sign of life around Mommy Dearest's lovely seaside home. Pearl was working but did get to spend some time with Junior and dropped by to say hello to Weezie, with her new crutches because of a twisted angle. How is it now?

Congradulations to Moose and the Missus. 50 years. Half a century and when you throw in the time courting that would be over fifty. Almost your whole life spent together. Bet 10 cents they didn'y have one arguement in all that time. You on Andrew?

Churches are all where they where when we grew up. GFA and NDA are gone. Out to Hiscock's twice Andrew. Lovely my son; Just lovely.
Must go got to finish getting unpacked. Brought back one of everything in Canadian Tire; Cosco and walmart plus some plants from some nursaries. See ya.

Hi home since Monday evening, I have been minding an elderly neighbour (87) as her husband was in hospital for three days. keeping her company driving her to hospital sleeping over but now her husband (91) is back home so I have some free time. Had some great chats with her about the old days.

I see on NTV that GFW is having a building boom over 100 new building site going full tilt. Good news Had a n evening with an old school chum Gerald Allen (Porky) GFA class of 1957. in Ottawa.

We all have to cheer for Netherlands in world cup as they have same designation name as us for postal work NL.

enjoy life

Good eevening. Moose watched the overtime of the world cup. Still not convinvced that it is the most exciting game in town. I wanted Ghana to be in the finals. Much prefer hockey.

What happened to everyone the last several weeks. Weezie, DCG, MD, Babs and Al's sisiter haven't posted for some time.

Don's suppose it has anything to do with the weather. We are hitting in the mid twenties and have a nice breeze every day. Just perfect for paintingand the yard. My little garden is just beautiful this year and with the cold weather in early june, there are no insects.Knock on wood.
Andrew, Ottawa is looking better with Gonchar. Need some scooring to replace HeathlyThough.
Take care and have a great night everyone.
Moose what are we up to now? thread number 116 x 200 thats 23200 posts. To my way of thinking thats a lot.

Good morning.

Getting these twenty five and thirty degree days with lots of thunder and lightening in the evenings. Two nights ago we had one of the most spectacular lightenings storms I've every seen. Lasted for hours.

Moose, the Jays keep picking up all these prospects.Hopefully they will pan out. In the meantime there are no fans in the seats and the product on the field leave a lot to be desired. The problem they may run into is that they will be like the old Expos, a training ground for other teams. They already have a top of the line SS prospect ,why the second?
Understand they had 700 at the salmon dinner last night.
Still painting the fence. Betwen the raindrops and the visitors, it will be september before I finish. I have 165ft of ten foot fence to paint and it will take two coats.
Take care.

Hello Central NL - haven't been in for awhile. Very busy with home renovations, visiting relatives, a wedding and excellent times. Very nice that we finally have summer and as Weezie said - would be nice to have this weather for 6 months at least. Reg, sounds like quite a fence you are doing. You must be made out of cast iron the way you keep going and going (the Duracell Bunny).

Must go and put the finishing touches on my big boiler of pea soup with salt beef, bacon and ham for the visitors. Hope it tastes as good as it smells and of course the good old dumplings.

Cheers
Carolyn
