Afternoon all, sunny and +1 here. Cripes that was a quick trip. Left around 11AM yesterday, drank too much rum and had a great room party in the afternoon, went to supper, then drank too much rum and had a great time at the dance, went to bed around 3, up at 7:30 and home by 11:30. I guess the old saying is true, time sure flies when yer havin fun lol. Will now proceed to veg for the rest of the day with take out(pizza) on the menu for supper. Have a good one. |

Wow Andrew, sounds like you had a great time this weekend. I have my daughter, son-in-law and my 2 darling grandsons coming to visit on Good Friday for the whole Easter week. Can't wait. They live in Wabush The boys have a hockey tournament in Marystown and of course Nan and Pop are going. Got my clappers, horn and a huge Labrador Flag to cheer them on. I just love thdir hockey tournaments.
Hello Ruffles - we have a gorgeous day here in Mount Pearl also but it also chilly here. Hopefully, spring is here. |

Hi all I may as well report a chilly day here in Florida as well darn wind is causing our chill
. Carolyn i can remember taking our son to many games it was the best of times for sure. I can even remember taking myself to games in the Rink in GF back 56 years ago. We kids had to walk to the rink then at 6AM no cars . And we had to clean our own ice as well.
Andrew some good finishes in NHL as games wind down.
Carolyn great avatar pic.

Good morning you fellow Grand Fallsers!! We've been having a lot of rain lately. Last night our laundry room flooded, the darn sump pump hose came loose and water all over the floor!! I had quite a mess to clean up this am, but it could have been worse.
Carolyn, my grandparents used to live on Bank Rd. I think there were Thoms living across the road from them? My maiden name is Edwards. I haven't been home in years but would love to visit. I have an Aunt living in Grand Falls still, Betty Penny.
Well I hope everyone has a great day, Hugs Babs

Babs, the people on Bank Road were Thomas. I was a Thoms. My husband would probably remember your grandparents. He grew up on Bank Road.
Moose that avatar was taken up in Renews on the Southern Shore of Newfoundland. We were up there for a cultural weekend for St. Patrick's Day. They sure know how to celebrate up there. |

Hi all well today marks the 62 birthday of the Province of NFLD well actually it was last night at 11;59 PM Before that we were a country unto ourselves. Where does the time fly. I can remember the gang with Joey coming around extolling the merits of joining Canada. The baby bonus was a big selling point. I remember the Pinsent family, they had about 15 kids and when they got a check for 100 bucks every one tried to get pregnant haha..
nice day here sunny and warm Had a good concert on the green last night at a place called Seaside.. check it out on the internet.

Moose, pretty sure it must have been 61 years yesterday for NL joining Confederation....we always joke and tell my sister she was a confederation baby because she was born in '49. |

Mornin all, still some drizzle here but it looks like a good weekend ahead. Last night was ladies club night so me an da boys headed for the pub for supper and to listen to Da Rock. Didn't realize the Sens were on TV until it was almost too late but did manage to see the OT and shootout. Hope they will go deep into the playoffs.
Nothing open here today so will just hang out or do some work outside if it clears. We have our band group coming in tomorrow night and on Sun about 8 for Easter dinner.
Moose, have a safe trip home. |

With the Olympics finished, haven't been watcing a whole lot of hockey - have been catching up on all the sewing and other aspect of my HBB (home based business)
Our casino bus trip to near Seattle was great - came back with good winnings just before we were about to get back on the bus for home. Our ticket included all meals free, room for three nights, and each day a $10.each person for free gambling....plus several bus side trips....tips for meals the only cost for food......also visiting the Bellis Fair shopping Mall was quite an experience-just huge. |

Hi all Ocean Breeze here we take overnight casino trips to Biloxi cost is 89 each with 45$ back free play two buffets and hotel visit 3 casinos not a bad deal.
Here everything is open on Good Friday , Saturday and Monday not sure if big stores are open tomorrow but think so as it is a touristy town so imagine malls will be open. Grocery are open Xmas Day so I guess Easter is no big deal.
Andrew some tight finishes eh. Flames hve a shot and # 8 in East is up for grabs.
Summer is here Baseball starts Monday and it is high 70s and sun. Only snag is my air conditioner is not up to par in car.

Happy Easter everyone! Welcome to the new faces. Going to be another gorgeous day I think. The Easter bunny left eggs all over our yard for the neighbors grandchildren! What fun they had finding them. |

Mornin all, another beautiful day here. Had the band crowd in last night for a practice as we have a concert at the end of April. We sure have a lot of work to do before then lol. I think the best part of the evening may have been the pizza lol.
Turkey on the menu for today and we have a few relatives and friends coming over. I hope the cold beer store is open today as they cleaned out my fridge last night. Oh well, at least I have plenty of rum.
Moose, the Sens didn't look too good for a playoff team yesterday. Not much of an effort as a few of those guys should have stayed home. The last spots in both divisions are still up for grabs.
It's time for my cuppa tea and toast. Happy Easter everyone. |
