Hi all, #117 is up and running. The thread has slowed some but it ain't dead yet.

Another sunny day here with +12 temps. We are getting spoiled. Yes Moose, the Sens have left the building and they better come back soon or start dusting off the golf clubs. Can't figure that team out at all this year but their goalies don't seem to make the big saves when they need them too and so it is another "L" in the loss column.

Missus has her drum set put together so look out in the neighbourhood. Well I'm off to light the BBQ. Have a great weekend.

Hello Andrew,

Please keep this one going. I do love to come in and peep. Sounds like you and Rita are doing very well.. I will be retiring in December. Race is going to hang on for a few more years. He is just happy that I will be home preparing his meals - ha ha. Take care.

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn. Long time no see lol. How are you guys anyhow, I think about the old days in GF often but don't get home much anymore. Try to head south when I can get away. Is Race still into the music? Rita and I are in an over 50 concert band. I am learning the tenor sax and she is taking percussion. It is a struggle some days but we are having lots of fun with it.

Beautiful day here at around +15. If only it would last until next Feb lol.

Hope this message doesn't come out twice - I am not sure what I am doing.

Andrew - we don't go to Grand Falls very much anymore either. Race has 2 sisters there and 1 brother but since our parents passed away it is not the same.

Race is still singing with the Ducats but they only play a couple of times a year although they did receive a Lifetime Achivement Award last time at the MNL Music Awards. He can still belt out the songs though.

Nice to hear that you and Rita are right into the music. Our son plays the drums and he is quite good at it. He turns after his Mother. The only instrument that I play is the spoons, the Egg and the Shaker but I sure do have a lot of fun doing it.

Florida - how nice - the last time we were there was in 1990 and Race says that he is still paying that trip off - we had a marvellous time.

Take care and keep posting - I love to check in now and then

Carolyn

117 already! Thank you Weezie, for getting this Central thread going, girl. Reg is going to try and get back in here from home. He's pretty busy since the retirement and is hardly on the computer most days. Having too much fun with the grandson, I'd say.lol.

We're heading out to Austin, Texas next month for two weeks. Going to be so much fun. The twins will be 2 months old by then. Can't wait to get my hands on them!

Hi all. Hi Carolyn come back anytime. I assume you are in Andrews bracket, age wise. I am a few years up on you guys but then I would imagine that Andrew has aged a few years since the way his Sens are playing of late.

I see that Moody Ivany has passed away she was a year or so ahead of me at GFA.

We had a great time in Pensacola, the wife shopped out the Stores in Foley Alabama where they have an outlet mall of about 250 stores.

enjoy life all

Hi all Cold windy day here if we are lucky we may hit 60.

Carolyn i have 10 years on you Yes 60 is 50 . I still think I am 40 but my body tells me differnt at times haha. An old lady (87) told me once "Just keep Shufflin' and all will be well. So that is what I do. Your music will keep you young.

PS your picture says you are mid 30s.

Moose - My maiden name was Thoms. We lived on Botwood Highway/Grenfell Heights. My brother Al Thoms would be 62 but he passed away in 1998 at 50 years old. My sister Linda is nearly 61. My mother was a Janes from Mill Road/Suvla Road. You may know her younger brothers Stephen and Fred. My husband is Raymond (Race) Hanlon from Bank Road. He has brothers Tom and Bill Hanlon.

So do you know any of them? Where did you live in Grand Falls? It sounds like you are like Andrew and have been away for many years.

Hi all Yes Carolyn I left home in 1957 and joined the RCAF just after my dad passed away He was the customs officer. Wilson Bartlett took over from him.

We had a school teacher named Hanlon and the name Thoms rings a bell. A funny thing happen this morning a couple noticed RCAF Airwoman s license plate on our car and we had coffee with them It turns out she is from Botwood (Yvonne Baldwin) and knows a lot of people i know and her husband worked with my brother Bruce in the RCAF.

IT SEEMS LIKE i AM ABOUT 10 YEARS AHEAD OF YOU GUYS. i HAVE ONLY BEEN BACK FOR 3 SCHOOL; REUNIONS THESE PASS YEARS BUT KEEP A CLOSE CONTACT VIA EMAILS TO OLD SCHOOL; CHUMS. Oops sorry caps got left on

Yes I remember the Janes There was a Janes that played Goal for the Ancos hockey team. We lived on Pine Ave then C resent Hts at #27 across from Burkes and Coop Anstey next to Burseys. Ronnie worked in the post office for a while.

clouds with 68 here the wife's sister said they had 18 cms of snow in north NB and drifts.

Hi all, +8 and showers here. Moose, about ten of us off to Oak Island Inn this Sat for Newfie Night. Lukey's Boat is playing and it is usually an excellent night. Good not having to drive as well so I can sample the old screech lol.

Two wins/shutouts in a row for the Sens. Hopefully they are past that slump.

Carolyn, were you living near Tony Kelly and the Lindalls? I use to try and get home once or twice a year but with Mom and Dad gone there is not much of a reason to go home. Rita still goes down to see her folks in Windsor but like I mentioned before, I try and vacation to the south and our kids are in Ontario.

Well I hear the supper bell. Have a good one.

Hi all Andrew we are having rain in the 60s so much like you guys. The hockey is unsettled at the moment no one team seem to be able to pull away win one lose one. Detroit and the hawks are heading for a first round showdown.

Enjoy your weekend Andrew. We are going to a musical called SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN part 3. Check it on Google it is great.

enjoy life all

Snowing here in Mount Pearl tonight. Hopefully, this will be the last of it.

Andrew, I lived down on Botwood Highway close to the old CJON Building. A couple of miles past Cyril's Chip Van. Had many a scoff at Cyril's. Hamburgers were 30 cents and chips were 15 cents. Those were the days.

Must go back and finish painting the porch. Race just got called out to go plowing.

Cheers

Good morning all. Beautiful and sunny here today but rain the rest of the week. Oh well as long as it isn't the "white stuff". We had a quiet weekend, nothing going on here. I hope you all have a fabulous week.
Hugs Babs
