Gordie, Pea soup is my favorite. Now please tell me how you make yours. I always ate someone's Else's and never made any of my my own. I know it's pretty simple but would like the proper steps.

I like aHam bone with some meat left on it, put it in a pot with about 10 12 cups of water
Let it cook until the meat fallsof the bone. take it out and pick the meat of and save it.put the pot back on the stove and add thr yellow split peas, let cook for awhile then add the veg.
Turnip Parsnip carrets and potatoes 0h lots of onion. season to taste and enjoy.

It's better the next day I go some left Ha.Ha.

Mmmm... You've got me craving it, now!!

I love it with salt beef. I can't remeber the lat time I made it since Ian isn't struck on it (I don't know why). If he liked it, we'd be having it on a regular bases, for sure!!

Tks Gordie. You gave me a few days meals. I know it is much better when it's leftovers. I like salt beef in mine too. Guess I'll have both the ham and beef. I'll cook the beef by itself first and then cut up up for the soup. Can't have too much of a good think, can we.?

Going through the downstairs freezer I came across a container of stew and dumplings I made about three weeks ago. It didn't take me long to put a blowtorch to that hunk of of tasty ice. Got enough there for today, tonight and a bit for tomorrow. Need the container for my pea soup later on.

You're right Clayton. At my age one has to pig out. Never know when a meal will be my last.
