TWEED — OPP crime unit specialists have cordoned off what is described as a possible crime scene here this morning, believed linked to the disappearance of Jessica Lloyd, 27, of Belleville.
The city woman went missing more than 10 days ago and there has been no trace of the woman since a text message was sent to a friend. Police sources said today there is a crime scene being examined outside Tweed in the Stoco Lake area and Belleville police and OPP have said there will be a joint news conference later today, expected to be in a meeting room at the Quinte Sports Centre.

TWEED — Provincial police crime scene investigators here are combing through the home of CFB Trenton Base Commander Russ Williams in connection with the death and disappearance of Jessica Lloyd.
Lloyd, 27, was found dead Sunday near here, sources said, and police have since arrested a man in connection with her death. His identity has not been released.
A press conference has been called for 1 p.m. to release further details of the investigation.
Intelligencer reporter Luke Hendry reporting from the scene said Williams' home on Cosy Cove Lane here is cordoned off and police are poring over the residence.
Williams has been base commander at CFB Trenton since July, 2009, and previously flew VIP Challenger aircraft for such dignitaries as Canadian prime ministers and royalty, while stationed in Ottawa.

The base commander of CFB Trenton has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the murders of two area women, including a fellow soldier.
Col. Russ Williams has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Cpl. Marie-France Comeau and Jessica Lloyd and two other home invasions last September in the Tweed area.
He was arrested Sunday in Ottawa
Lloyd, 27, went missing Jan. 29. after she failed to show up for her job with Tri-Board Student Transportation Services in Napanee.
Her body was found early Monday morning.
The last time anyone heard from Lloyd was the night before when she texted a friend.
Last week, friends of Lloyd started distributing vehicle decals with photos of her, as well as her description and contact information for police.
Comeau, 38, was found murdered in Brighton, Ont., on Nov. 25, 2009. Investigators are expected to announce further details this afternoon. |

There's the tip off right there Clayton. The police had to have some strong evidence to take this action. The other deaths didn't make much news outside of the local area until the base commander became a player in the game.

When the home invasions occured my wife in Tweed was very uncomfortable being there while I was here in St. John's working. Now that a Tweed resident (?) has been arrested and charged with the home invasions AND two murders, she doen't know whether or not to be relieved.
What a sin! Two lovely ladies have had their lives snuffed out by an evil individual and tow other women have had their lives changed forever.
Kudos to the OPP, the Belleville City PD and the Forces CIS for a job well done in finding and charging the perp. I'm sure we haven't heard the last of this guy once they do a full check of all of his postings and unsolved crimes. |

The golf course where the body was mentioned to have been located might well have been "The Poplars". The course in Stoco, just outside Tweed proper, is owner by a Newfoundlander and his family. They are the nicest people and this must really be a shock and upsetting to them, if in fact the body was found there. |

Wow, it's hard to believe a story like this, a base commander of all things, probably the last person one would suspect. How can someone lead such a normal life, and come so far up the ranks and be a psychopath.
My friends here have a sister living in Tweed, and they've always described it to me as an idealic little village. How sad for that small community, and the military as a whole. Been around the military my whole life, and this is shocking to say the least. I hope they go to every base he's ever been at (including overseas) and see if there are unsolved murders there.
Those beautiful young woman, murdered, I was first thinking he must have been dating them, and then knocked them off to keep them quiet, but sounds like he would break and enter, rape and then murder. So scary. If this happened in the states, it would be a tv movie before too long. Does sound more like a movie than real life. Wish it was. |

According to the news here last night he was caught by the cops taking pictures of tire tracks at on victim's home and then the did a check of all veichles traveling on Hwy 7, near Tweed, taking pictures of the tires and Lic # - Williams SUV was one of the vehicles chcek and his vehicle's tire tracks matched those at the scene. They also reported that the McVicker's case, murder in Trenton in 2001, is being re-opened also. |
