Hi all; Glad you had a nice visit "home" Pat - haven't decided when I will make another trek that way.
We have had a few steamy days - 30 and 31 degrees, - try not to complain cause summer is short after all - LOL. Now, if I could only get to feeling so charitable about the mowing - sigh. I spent 2 1/2 hours this afternoon and still have mega "trimming" to do . At least the black flies and ticks have gone for now. Still have to mow between the rainy days !!
I went out Thursday to pick some blueberries and only got a dozen ripe ones....don't know why they are so slow this year. Some of my friends have had ripe ones for over a week now - but there are lots there when ( and if ) they get around to ripening. Are you picking yet Squashberry?
Hello to Labbie ( those boat rides on the bay sound enticing ), Mary, we are canadian, and all the peekers. Take care. |

Hi all. Squashberry we did not get the full effects of Bill on the Fundy side of N.S. - seems like it will hit Cape Breton a lot harder. It is still a mite breezy and raining but easing now. and we are hopeful that the awful humid heat of the last week and a half blows on with Bill too.
I have been kept busy with the mowing and generally trying to stay on top of the outside work. The blueberries are still ripening and I have been encouraging the neighbors to come take their share. Two of my bushes are not doing as well this year, but lots of berries just the same. I had a nasty scare a few weeks back when I was using my electric trimmer along the foundation on the front of the house. I got stung by a yellow jacket, had a severe allergic reaction - ended up at out patients and now have to carry an Epi pen .....makes me a lot more cautious about working outside.
Hope all is well with the rest of you guys - Pat, Labbie, Mary R, we are canadian - and that you are enjoying the summer - another week and a half and the kids will be back in school ! |

Hi everyone......I haven't been in here, for awhile..I can't seem to hook up on the old computer at the trailer..had trouble, every time I tried...
We've been spending a lot of time at the trailer, since we came back from NL...
Nova, that allergy is awful, for sure...My friend is the same....The bees are bad, this time of the year..
Labbie, sound like you've had a busy and good summer...I couldn't believe how nice it was, when we were there...
I guess we haven't had much of a summer up this way....lots of rain...I've never had green grass in August before..LOL..
Squashberry, I had lots of blueberries, lately....Can't seem to get them to the freezer...I eat em'...LOL..My favourite!!
Better get moving, here...Have a couple of things to do today...Then get ready to head back to the trailer, tomorrow..
I'll try and post out there, again...I guess maybe this site had some problems, as well...
Have a wonderful day, everyone...Hi to Jinene, Elizabeth, Mary and all the gang.. |

Good morning all; I just taken some muffins from the oven using the last of the blueberries I will pick this year - there may be a few more to ripen, but the birds can have them. I have given away what I can, frozen what I can, baked a crumble - so bye, bye blueberries til next year - and , looks like I will be saying goodbye to the hummingbirds too. It seems like only a few weeks back that I was thinking it was time to get the feeders out.
We have had a stretch of lovely weather this week. The hurricane and sub-tropical storm cleared the humidity, and the days are warm with cooler evenings and nights. I love fall - if it was only a little longer ( say until March - LOL ).....
Hope all is well with you all. Enjoy the weekend. |
