Well - mornings are very, very cool ( had to run the furnace Tuesday ) - today is the first full sunny day we have had for some time - had rain nearly every day for nearly three weeks !! We had massive thunderstorms on Saturday - morning, afternoon and evening and lost our power at suppertime. All this rain has not done the strawberries any good - too wet to pick most days, but we have had them for the last two weeks now - I am strawberry shortcaked out - LOL.
Of course, this weather wreaks havoc with mowing as well - I have been hard at it this morning and am about to go out again - trying to catch up. Lots of trimming to be done after that - sigh.
Hopefully we can hang on to this weather for a few days at least - supposed to rain again on the weekend - so be prepared.
My blueberry bushes seem to be getting ready to bear lots of berries - have to get the bird "ribbons" tied along the row to keep those , or most of them, for myself. The crows and bluejays are having a feast on the cherries - they are almost all gone. I cleared away the rhubarb patch day before yesterday. My grape vines are looking good ( I was afraid that I had killed them when I pruned them in the spring ) - but, won't have grapes for a few months yet.
So - that's how things are "down on the farm".
Hello to Pat, Labbie,we are canadian,PabPuffin - hope you guys can get together for your coffee at Timmies - take pictures to show us. Hello also to MaryR and Elizabeth.
