This topic is to welcome you to the New and Improved Downhome Kitchen. I'm sure there are a lot of questions about everything, and I'll be happy to answer them. If you're looking for help, having troubles, experiencing glitches, or just want to chat about being back, this is the place to do it.
1. YOU NEED TO SIGN UP FOR A My Downhome ACCOUNT IN ORDER TO GET A KITCHEN ACCOUNT. Before you contact us for help about registration issues, make sure you have registered for a My Downhome account.
2. What happened to the Kitchen?
There were some pretty serious technical troubles. After trying to fix them for a while, we decided it would be even better to make a new, home-made Downhome Kitchen with extra features.
3. How do I get signed up for the new Kitchen?
Since mid of 2005, all new Kitchen account holders must be Downhome magazine subscribers. If you would like to subscribe to Downhome magazine, click HERE
4. If you're a new Kitchen member
First, when you click on the "Register" page, you'll see that you need a My Downhome account. Just follow the directions to get one if you don't already have one-- it's simple. Make sure you put your Downhome magazine subscriber information in when you register. If you don't, we won't be able to qualify you as a subscriber and you won't be able to become a Kitchen member.
Once you've got a My Downhome account, which is free and open to anyone, you just need to fill out a few Kitchen specific items. Put your My Downhome account information (that's the email address and password you used to sign up) in the registration form, and click register. You'll be brought to your Profile for the first time to pick a Kitchen Screenname / Username and fill out some details you might want to share. If you feel comfortable with it, you can select a biographical picture to share with us as well.
Once you've got that stuff filled out, just press the button and you're ready to post! Have fun!
5. If you're a returning Kitchen member
First, when you click on the "Register" page, you'll see that you need a My Downhome account. Just follow the directions to get one if you don't already have one-- it's simple.
On the registration screen, choose the returning Kitchen member option. Type in your free My Downhome account information. Next you'll have to type in your old Kitchen Account information. Type in your username and password from the old Kitchen. This information will be verified when you press the button.
You'll be brought to your Profile for the first time to pick a Kitchen Screenname / Username, and fill out some details you might want to share. If you feel comfortable with it, you can select a biographical picture to share with us as well.
Once you've got that stuff filled out, just press the button and you're ready to post! Have fun!
6. Who do I call if I'm having trouble
During business hours, feel free to call us using the phone numbers found on our Staff Directory. If it's outside business hours, send an email using the email address for web issues that you find on that page.
7. I forgot my password, what do I do?
If at anytime you forget your password, visit www.downhomelife.com/forgotPass.php and follow the instructions on the page.
